Leaders, think about what digital transformation will mean – in practice – to your company and how you will articulate it.
The integration of digital tech
What is digital transformation ?
Because digital transformation will look different for each company, it can be difficult to find a universal definition. In general, we define digital transformation as the integration of digital technology into all areas of a business, resulting in fundamental changes in how businesses operate and deliver value to customers.
Beyond that, it’s a cultural shift that necessitates organizations constantly challenging the status quo, experimenting frequently, and becoming comfortable with failure. This sometimes entails abandoning long-standing business processes on which companies were founded in favor of relatively new practices that are still being defined.
Why “What is digital transformation” ?
“what is digital transformation” Digital transformation is essential for all businesses, from small to large. That message rings loud and clear from seemingly every keynote, panel discussion, article, or study about how businesses can stay competitive and relevant as the world becomes more digital. Many business leaders are unsure what digital transformation entails. Is it simply a catchy way of saying “moving to the cloud”? What specific steps do we need to take? Do we need to create new jobs or hire a consulting service to help us create a framework for digital transformation? What aspects of our business strategy should be revised? Is it truly worthwhile?
“The “why” of your organization’s digital transformation may revolve around, for example, improving customer experience, reducing friction, increasing productivity, or elevating profitability,” Ferro says. “Alternatively, if it’s an aspirational statement, it could revolve around becoming the best to do business with, leveraging enabling digital technologies that were unavailable years ago.”
You might not like the term. But, whether you like it or not, the business mandates behind the term – rethinking old operating models, experimenting more, becoming more agile in your ability to respond to customers and competitors – aren’t going away.

Digital transformation in Egypt
In alignment with Egypt Vision 2030, and Egypt’s digital transformation strategy, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has embarked on building Digital Egypt. Digital skills and jobs
How to develop digital transformation in Egypt
Developing the digital infrastructure is one of the bases upon which the three main pillars of Digital Egypt are built.
- MCIT launched several major projects to improve the quality of fixed broadband, helping improve the country’s ranking on global indices. In January 2022, Egypt ranked first in Africa in fixed broadband internet speed on Speedtest Global Index, with a median speed of 35.67 Mbps. In addition, to boost communication services, main roads and certain areas in governorates have been covered with mobile networks. Mobile services provided to citizens are being also improved by speeding up the issuance of permits for building cell towers for mobile operators, in addition to offering new frequencies that improve network efficiency and communication services quality.
- A new network of fiber optic cables is being established to connect 32,500 government buildings across the nation within the fiber optic network. It is to link the buildings with fiber optic cables, to boost communication speed and provide a more resilient service. To boost the information infrastructure, schools nationwide are also being connected with the fiber optic network, to provide high-speed Internet to schools and a plan is currently implemented to connect villages with fiber optic cables to boost Internet.
- In an effort to provide an efficient infrastructure, post offices have been developed to provide a range of basic services to citizens, including government, financial inclusion and postal services. Post offices now serve as an outlet of financial inclusion services, connecting clients with service providers. They offer now a range of services, including microfinance and micro-insurance services, where citizens submit applications, register their data, receive funding and pay premiums. Egypt post is also currently looking into launching a digital mobile wallet that will help customers get microloans, pay bills, pay for purchases, and transfer money. This is in addition to post kiosks and mobile post offices that have developed and equipped nationwide to provide all services delivered by post offices nationwide.
nology across all functions of an organization is known as “digital transformation,” and it significantly alters how you do business and provides value to consumers. Additionally, it’s a cultural shift that necessitates constant status quo challenge, experimentation, and comfort with failure on the part of organizations.
